UV400: The Only Number That Matters

By ANY-Glass Editorial

The Invisible Threat

Ultraviolet radiation is invisible to the human eye, but your eyes absorb it anyway. Long-term UV exposure is linked to cataracts, macular degeneration, photokeratitis (sunburn of the eye), and growths on the eye surface.

What UV400 Means

UV400 means the lens blocks all light waves with a wavelength up to 400 nanometers — which covers all UVA and UVB rays. It's the benchmark for full UV protection.

The Dark Lens Trap

Here's the danger: dark lenses without UV protection cause your pupils to dilate (widen) because the world looks dimmer. Wider pupils let in more unfiltered UV. A cheap, dark, non-UV400 pair can actually deliver more UV to your retina than wearing no sunglasses at all.

Always UV400

Every single pair ANY-Glass sells is UV400. No exceptions, no tiers, no upcharges. Whether you choose Sport, Lounge, or Tropical — the protection is identical and complete.

Beyond UV: Blue Light

High-energy visible (HEV) blue light from the sun contributes to retinal damage over time. Our gradient and polarized lenses filter a meaningful portion of HEV light as well, giving you layered defense.
